There are over 52,000 combat wounded veterans that have returned home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, we know more about military injuries than ever before. Not only because of the fact that service members are surviving battlefield injuries, but also because of shocking scandals with several healthcare systems. A growing number of reports suggest that service members are being injured prior, during, and after receiving care. While recent studies started to explore customized healing strategies, nothing has been done to include newly emerging sociological, psychological, and non-traditional practices.
